Kalsubai, at 1,646 metres (5,400 feet), is the highest peak in Maharashtra and is popularly known as the “Everest of Maharashtra.” Located in the Western Ghats, it offers stunning panoramic views of surrounding forts such as Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad, and Harishchandragad.

The most popular trekking route begins from Bari Village and covers a round trip of approximately 13–14 kilometres, taking around five to seven hours to complete. The trail is well-marked and includes ladders, railings, and chains at steeper rocky sections, making it suitable for beginners with moderate fitness levels. At the summit, there is a small temple dedicated to Kalsubai Devi, adding a cultural and spiritual aspect to the trek.
